almond-milk-4

Everyone here at Chez SGCC is lactose intolerant in varying degrees. Luckily for me, I’m the least affected. That means I still get to have ice cream from time to time. And, a world without ice cream is a very sad place. However, except for yogurt, we try to limit our dairy consumption around here as much as we can. One product that we regularly use as a substitute for cow’s milk in cereal, coffee, etc., is almond milk. It doesn’t contain any lactose or animal products. It’s also a cholesterol free and low glycemic food. And, it’s low in calories and high in nutrients. Plus, it tastes great!

I just can’t seem to get enough of those tasty Florida blueberries! It’s probably because my subconscious keeps telling me that they’ll be gone soon. I plop them on cereal and in yogurt. I mix them into salads. I make ice cream, pies and shortcake. I bake muffins, bars …

TWD: Raspberry Blanc-Manger

I’ve heard it said, “If anything can go wrong, it will.” And yesterday, it did!
I went to bed on Sunday night pleased with the fact that this week’s TWD selection was already made and resting comfortably in my fridge. All I needed to do was take some glamour …

The other day, when I posted about that fantastic Blueberry Sour Cream Ice Cream for my weekly Tuesdays with Dorie gig, I also posted this photo.

The tasty looking little confection peeking out from underneath that oozy purple mound of ice cream is a blueberry-almond crumble bar. After …
