This is what happens when you try to multi-task by wrapping Christmas presents while you’re making homemade marshmallows to give as gifts. The fire department wasn’t amused. Neither was I.

More to come…….

Oh - so the visual is the Bad News.
The Good News is your silicon spatula held it’s own in the battle for supreme dominance, and didn’t melt!

And don’t worry about those silly ol’ Firemen. I have it on good authority that there are times when they like having a reason to leave the Fire House. That, and they REALLY like to chop down solid core front doors. Give a Boy an axe and…………..Better luck next time.

Oh no! Yikes. On the upside you didn’t burn down the house the Christmas present you were wrapping :). This makes me feel much better about trying to temper chocolate a few times and failing (and then getting it). Yay for mistakes! :)

We used to live next door to a fire chief, so I have it on good authority that firemen LOVE food. Take them some cookies or a few pizzas, & they’ll hope they have to come to your house again.

    Aiya!

I had a similar incident with microwave-direction peanut brittle when my sister read the same line twice. We threw it into the treeline but nothing was desperate enough to eat it.

Oh no, this looks aweful :). I also had the fire department come one time. It was an innocent deglazing of a pot with wine that turned the fire alarm on AND it was at a client’s house. I couldn’t believe my eyes when I saw they come…

Oh I can’t wait to hear about this.

There once was a time when I set my pizza of fire and ruined my pans. Luckily the fire department did not have to come. But the apart filled with smoke and we had to order chinese.

    Happy holidays!

Well congratulations! That is truly the worst marshmallow disaster I have EVER seen - LOL!!! My marshmallow disaster of This past Sunday resulted in Peppermint Gummies! There WAS a layer of white stuff on top, but 3/4’s of the bottom was clear, peppermint, gelatin.

We cut the stuff with cookie cutters, dusted the trees and stars with posdered sugar, and passed them off to the kids across the street as Christmas Peppermint Gummies! YAY!

    😉

ps - without disasters - we’d have no stories

    And I LOVE your blog!
