bowties-with-bacon-3

This little pasta dish was so darn easy to make that I’m almost embarrassed to tell you about it.  Seriously.  It took hardly any time, much less skill, at all.  But then I realized that it is precisely because of the dish’s simplicity that I had to share it with you.   Because if your life is anything like my crazy, hectic one,  a simple, mindless pasta recipe in the middle of the week might be just the thing you need to keep you from diving off the deep end and into that big bowl of leftover Halloween candy still sitting on your dining room table.  Go on, admit it.   I know you’ve been sneaking those little fun size Snickers bars.  But, don’t worry.  I won’t tell, because I’ve been sneaking them too.  And the M & Ms.  And the Milk Duds.  And the…..well, you get the picture.  The point is, that even though this pasta dish contains no chocolate, it’s comforting, satisfying and very tasty.  Did I mention that it has bacon in it too?

Gingery Blueberry Shortcake Sliders

Thursday, July 8, 201034 Comments

Here’s a little something I made for our Fourth of July celebration last weekend.  Aren’t they cute?  They’re Gingery Blueberry Shortcake Sliders. I made silver dollar-sized cream biscuits and filled them with a fresh lime-scented blueberry compote, topped with little puddles of lovely whipped cream.  I call them …

Dominator Honey-Vanilla Bean Panna Cotta and Why I Love Facebook

Tuesday, March 16, 201051 Comments

I’ve thought about them so many times over the years.  Little girls in blue and grey, enveloped in giggles as they played hopscotch and double dutch in an asphalt covered schoolyard.  Little girls racing home after school to watch Barnabas Collins and Angelique face off on Dark Shadows.  …

TWD: Raspberry Blanc-Manger

Tuesday, July 21, 2009103 Comments

I’ve heard it said, “If anything can go wrong, it will.”   And yesterday, it did!
I went to bed on Sunday night pleased with the fact that this week’s TWD selection was already made and resting comfortably in my fridge. All I needed to do was take some glamour …
